A Legacy of Centuries

Historic renovation

rooted in history

Since 1784

The Locust Estates traces its origins to a 4,000-acre land grant given to Samuel Beall in 1784 by Patrick Henry. The land passed through George Nicholas, Kentucky’s first Attorney General, to Robert Wooden, who built the stone section of the house around 1819. Local tradition suggests the structure and nearby stone springhouse may date to as early as 1790. The property’s storied history is a testament to its enduring significance across centuries.
